Mom of 2. This is our adventure of cooking in the kitchen.

Tonight, we did one on one dinner date. Piper and

Tonight, we did one on one dinner date. Piper and I decided to venture to France and visit a local French bistro.

When we go on these adventures, we talk about being open to new flavors and textures. We worked on not judging food based off sight. We played a fun game of what do we think it taste like based off the sight of it and the smell. The trio of tapenade spread looked mushy and not tasty, the smell was garlicky. The taste was ok but not a favorite. For dinner, we picked a dish that had some familiar items like fries and something new like our bearnaise sauce. Her review is that it was all delicious but the green beans were the best. Nice and crunchy. And to finish, Piper got to pick our dessert, the most delicious chocolate tart.

I know as a parent it can be hard to encourage kids to try to foods. The pleading and whining can just be too much. Making a game of it and also allowing the child to make some choices for the meal helps to encourage their adventurous spirit! Kids can and will eat good food!

Tonight was a trip through Ted Lasso with food. Biscuits with the boss shortbread that melts in your mouth, and of course moutaches for all to get in the mood. Such a fun group of Roy Kent fans...he really is everywhere!

It's apple season and first thing that always come

It's apple season and first thing that always comes to mind is making an apple pie. It can be hard to read a recipe and truly know how many apples your pie will need. Some say cups, others say a quantity of apples. Tricky thing is not all apples are the same size or weight. So, one trick is to stack your apples inside your pie pan, once you've filled the pan, that's a good gauge of how many you'll need.

This Saturday, August 21st will be my last cooking

This Saturday, August 21st will be my last cooking demo at @kirkwood_farmers_market from 10am to 1115am. So, many delicious treasure to talk and cook about. A sweet corn gazapacho and melon, prosciutto burrata salad to keep things cool as we also talk about the seasonal delights of eggplant, zucchini, okra and tomatoes.

Today was full of delicious food and wonderful peo

Today was full of delicious food and wonderful people. We took a trip to Maine and made Lobster BLT rolls, blueberry pie and more extra goodies! Nothing beats freshly made rolls hot out the oven!
